2，過去一個動作發(fā)生時，另一個動作正在進(jìn)行中.While we were having maths the head master broke into the classroom.

我們在上數(shù)學(xué)課時，校長闖了進(jìn)來。

Mary was making a dress when she cut her finger. 瑪麗割破手指時正在做衣服。

3，過去時間里兩件事同時發(fā)生. While Mr. Atkins was reading the newspaper, his wife Mrs. Atkins was preparing the dinner.

阿特金斯先生在看報(bào)紙的時候，他的妻子阿特金斯太太正在準(zhǔn)備晚餐

兩件事同時發(fā)生，一般用while表示“當(dāng)…時候”(不要用when)
